Description

This beautiful piece of art is both simple and complex. It is printed with a line from Rainer Maria Rilke’s The Book of Hours (1899), a poetry collection that is meant to be read in the morning—when people are busy with their worldly tasks, and in the evening—when they are able to look inward and reflect on the day.

This particular line shows Rilke’s longing for something to happen, but at the same time he doesn’t want to be burdened with the responsibility of being somebody’s one and only. He wants somebody to love him, but at the same time doesn’t want somebody to make decisions for him.

To complement Rilke’s words, we used as background print a high resolution image of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner’s painting The Kiss (1930) which shows a monochromatic caricature of a couple in a tight embrace.

This canvas is made of 100% cotton fabric printed with high quality dyes, creating a fine texture that consistently reproduces high-quality image with outstanding clarity and detail. For indoor use only.
